MA in English

I completed my Master's thesis in English at Florida International University in the Fall of 2008. I explored the notion of selfhood and the hero's journey in the context of modern retellings of "Beauty and the Beast," particularly the female as hero.
The original copy is located in the Green Library at FIU.

This course focused on the history and future of libraries, as well as the social aspects of LIS. I also participated in the class blog, SocialLibrarian as a member of the Diversity group


Intro. to Library Administration

This course focused on library administration and management with an emphasis on organizational reframing. Because many of our assignments were designed to help us consider our position within our current organization, I have chosen to only present my final paper.


Information sources and services

The aim of this course was to gain familiarity with the role of reference in libraries and how to meet the reference needs of a varied library community.


Organization of Knowledge I

The aim of this course was to become familiar with the history, practice, and foundations of classification and categorization in LIS.


Research Methods

This course provided an introduction to research methodology and theory for practical applications in libraries.

Preparing Instructional Media

This course focused on the development of instructional and social media for use in libraries, particularly public.


Information Architecture

This course considered practical and theoretical aspects of information technology and information architecture.

This course emphasized cultural awareness in libraries, particularly in the areas of collection development/selection and library services for children and teens.
