Welcome

This site serves as a record of the work I have completed towards a degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida. I entered the program in the Summer of 2009 and am currently attending as a part time distance learner.

I am a self-declared geek girl. In my spare time, I like to spend time reading, writing, and exploring neat hideaways across South Florida. I am interested in Victorian history and literature, Jane Austen, shoujo manga, and tea.

I maintain a book blog at things she read and a personal reflection blog at things she said.

I received an MA in English from Florida International University in December of 2008, and have a BA in English & Women's Studies with a minor in Religious Studies from the same (2006).

I work as a library assistant at FIU's Medical Library and will be completing my MLIS in May 2011.

I am particularly interested in academic librarianship, reference services, and digital resources. I am also interested in the technical areas of librarianship--cataloging/classification, and metadata.
